Madonna Foundation Vision

Sister Frances Clare photo In five years, the Madonna Foundation will be sponsoring 500 scholars with tuition assistance, personal and professional mentors, college and career planning, internships in Chicago public and private sectors and other effective and motivating vehicles which maximize young urban women's potential. We would like to form networks with other organizations in order to accomplish some of these outcomes without duplication and with a cohesive and aligned comprehensive matrix of services for each of our scholars. Some of these organizations include Catholic high schools, the Association of Colleges in Illinois, Catholic Universities in metropolitan Chicago, professional organizations, service organizations, other foundations, corporations in the private sector, and public service providers.

In five years, the Madonna Foundation will be supporting innovative programs in Catholic high schools for young women, which will strengthen and improve the services they provide to their students and families. Some of the innovative programs we would like to offer would include Transforming the Culture of Technology; Academy for Multicultural Literacy; Unleashing Multiple Intelligences; Achieving Equity in Education (Growing Smart, Confident and Caring Boys and Girls).

In five years, the Madonna Foundation will have been part of a plan to build a coalition with other providers and sponsors of services for young women to maximize resources and economies of scale. This coalition will provide a full spectrum of services to help build the capacity of young urban women that will span from health and medical issues through educational and career areas to spiritual and psychological dimensions. The coalition will model collaborative social entrepenuership and help move philantrhrophy into social and policy advocacy on behalf of the vulnerable members of our community.

In five years, the Madonna Foundation would like to have helped diversify funding sources for Catholic high schools for young women so that new revenue streams could balance the financial infrastructure for the schools.

In five years, the Madonna Foundation will have 10 million dollars in its endowment and an operational budget of 4 million dollars. It will have an active auxiliary, which brings in 2 million dollars annually and continues to nurture new major donors.
